The restaurant at the Meikleour Arms describes itself as ‘a traditional British country pub with Gallic zest’, but what really makes it stand out is its locally sourced, sustainable produce. Most of the ingredients for the Meikelour Arms’ seasonal menu is sourced from the farms, fields and rivers on the estate itself, and the meat is prepared and matured in the Meikleour’s own butchery.
why we loVe mEikleour
Meikelour Estate has a fascinating history, with unique French connections. The merchants who acquired the estate in 1162 were of early medieval French origin, and trade, wars and marriages have bound Meikleour with France ever since. Even today the owners have both nationalities, and everything about the Meikleour Arms, from the artwork to the room names are inspired by its unique history.
