The best way to understand a Celtic Routes journey is to hear from those who’ve experienced one.
These are independent reviews from our customers – travellers who have explored the UK and Ireland with us, each with their own route, pace and priorities.

“There so many words we could use to describe our ten day self driving tour of Scotland organized by Celtic Tours: breathtaking, fun, eclectic, challenging, fascinating, educational and user friendly would be just a few. But if we had to pick a single word that best encompassed our experience is that it was so personal. Alison took the time to talk to us at length at the start of the planning process, asking not just about the areas we wanted to visit but learning about us as people, our interests, likes, dislikes, histories and goals. Then she took that knowledge and crafted a custom trip designed expressly for us. As we drove ourselves from one stunning out of the way location to the next we often speculated “How did she do this?!” We could have spent MONTHS trying to plan this trip on our own and not come up with an itinerary half as good. It was truly the trip of a lifetime for which we will be forever grateful. Marian & John”

My son and I had a wonderful trip. He did the driving and was the technical brain, he thought the links and maps were well done and easy to use especially syncing downloaded information on phone to the vehicle. Suggested sights along the way were excellent. Hotels were lovely, along with the provided breakfasts. We ate dinner, per your reservations, at the hotel restaurants on the days we travelled from one location to another. The meals were excellent. Other nights we found places on our own and had wonderful meals those nights too. Overall, everything was great. It was a really great trip, thank you.

“Our trip was wonderful and truly memorable. We are so happy we went, and I am especially grateful for your planning. Every location offered attentive and kind service, which we appreciated after long days of driving. It was full of adventure and beauty. We definitely preferred the quieter spots where we could spend time with locals rather than other tourists. While Skye was a bit busy for our taste, the turntable ferry on the way out was a highlight. The Meikleour Arms was our absolute favorite hotel.”

“Bob & I are thoroughly enjoying every moment of our travel, we wish to thank you so much for all the detail, and the choices that have been made for our trip. Really loved meeting “Queenie”at her Highland Cow farm and we were so blessed to have her give us her farm tour, she was delightful, engaging, thoroughly fascinating. “

“The trip was very carefully thought out and executed flawlessly. Every touch point we discussed in the pre-trip interview was accomplished along the way during our trip. The level of planning in preparation on the part of Celtic Routes made for a very carefree and relaxing trip from beginning to end. There were no hiccups or miscues anywhere along the trip. The car was great, the accommodations were uniformly, exceptional with quite a variety in the styles of the accommodations, which made for a wonderful surprise each night when we got to a new stop. The routes suggested to us could not have been more perfectly aligned with what we were hoping to see and do while on our trip I will book with you again and I will unequivocally recommend you to anyone getting within 1000 miles of the UK. Great product, and great staff; class organization!”

If you’re looking for a journey that blends breathtaking nature, rich culture, and unforgettable experiences, the Celtic lands are calling. Taste the local traditions, meet the people who keep them alive, and feel the rhythm of a region that celebrates its heritage with pride. Thanks to the great organization of Celtic Tours – and their wonderful Defenders guiding us along the way we shared stories, laughed endlessly, and created memories that will stay with us forever. A Celtic tour isn’t just a trip; it’s time well spent with friends in a place that feels magical.

We were very impressed with Celtic Routes, from the beginning to the end. At the start, they listened to the kind of trip we wanted, the kind of lodging, and the kind of activities. The Mini Cooper was perfect for the narrow roads. The lodging was excellent, great locations and friendly staff. The sights and short hikes were exactly what we were looking for. The communication with CR was wonderful from start to finish. We highly recommend this company to help organize a trip.
