the pErfect place to Putt
There are around 180 golf courses and 23 links courses in Wales, often located in National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Because of how compact Wales is, it’s possible to spend a week here and play in all of the main golfing regions. So, whether you want to add a single golfing experience to your tour of Wales or spend a week or two course-hopping, you’re in the right place.
golfing in North wales
The North West Coast of Wales is home to two of the most iconic courses in the country. Porthmadog Golf Club combines parkland and links for an 18-hole course that has the best of both worlds, including undulating heath and pure coastal links.
Nefyn Golf Club is situated on the Llyn Peninsula, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and vast ocean views for a round of golf ‘on the edge of the world’.
golfing in South wales
In Pembrokeshire, on the South West Coast, you’ll find Royal St David’s Golf Club. Established in 1894, it’s long been ranked in Britain’s top 50 golf courses and has been home to almost 80 national and international championships.
Closer to Cardiff is Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, which is recognised as the top golf club in Wales with an outstanding links course that’s been home to the likes of the Walker Cup.
