hEavenly views
There’s no better place to wake up than the comfortable rooms at the George III Hotel, featuring spectacular views out across the Mawddach Estuary and distant mountains. Watch the world go by from your window or head down to the terrace to immersive yourself in the natural beauty on your doorstep.
hearty Pub grub
Pub food doesn’t get better than this. Think scotch eggs with chipotle ketchup and pickled pink onions, slow-cooked pork belly with fondant potato and confit carrot, rump steak with garlic truffle butter, bine roast tomatoes and triple-cooked chips, poached apricots with a touch of lavender oil and crunchy crumble and moist almond and raspberry cake drizzled with Limoncello syrup.
The menu changes daily to make the most of the fresh, seasonal produce available from local vendors, providing a unique taste of authentic Snowdonia.
why we love the George iii Hotel
The George III Hotel is in the perfect position to act as your base when exploring Snowdonia National Park, an ideal stop if you’re touring Wales. Based in part of a refurbished train station, the hotel’s front door opens straight onto the old railway track, which is now a handy cycle path running all the way to Barmouth. Whether you’re travelling on two wheels or your own two feet, you can enjoy a traffic-free jaunt down to the golden sands and spend the day at the beach, returning for a delicious hot meal and pint in front of the hotel bar’s log fires.
