The wonders of wester Ross
Wester Ross is one of the most scenic regions on the iconic North Coast 500 route, home to ancient mountains, picturesque lochs and vast sandy beaches. Hikers and climbers are drawn from miles around to Wester Ross’ Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve for its majestic beauty and uncompromising terrain.
It’s home to five Munros, including Liathach (1,054m) and Beinn Alligin (985m), as well as miles of gentler hikes across breathtaking landscapes.

The population density in Wester Ross is one of the lowest in Europe, which has allowed nature to flourish. Beinn Eighe was chosen as Britain’s first National Nature Reserve and is home to the likes of red deer, golden eagles, red squirrels and otters.
You can often spot dolphins, whales and seals frolicking in the waters just off the coast as well as countless sea birds nesting on the cliffs.
